STOPPING VIOLENCE AGAINST CHILD DOMESTIC WORKERS THROUGH REGULATION AND EDUCATION

Period: June – July 2015
Client/Partner: CEFA Kenya NGO

IDAY members from East Africa and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) launched in 2014 a regional program to integrate the domestic workers into the education for all. Funded by the EU, IDAY conducted national surveys in 5 countries: Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, DRC and Burundi with 14 partners to collect quantitative and qualitative data from 22 000 stakeholders; child and adult domestic workers and their employers.

In the context of the survey in Kenya, as an independent consultant for CEFA Kenya NGO I conducted a research on child domestic work, and drafted the Legal and Policy assessment in the framework of child domestic work in Kenya.
