Period: February – May 2014
Client/Partner: International Juvenile Justice Observatory
The main objective of this EU Funded project was to strengthen the protection of the rights of children entering in conflict with the law across Europe, by promoting the exchange of promising practices.

As independent research consultant for IJJO, I contributed to the European study of good practices collected from Austria, Belgium, England and Wales, Italy, Scotland, Sweden, in the Netherlands, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
I conducted the research for Italy, interviewing experts from the Italian child justice system, analysing literature and drafting the national report on the child justice system and on promising practices for early prevention of youth offending.
The project was led by the IJJO in partnership with PROVIDUS (Latvia), the University of Edinburgh, Ministry of Justice of Estonia, Children Support Centre, International Child Development Initiatives and three local municipalities in Latvia.
Co-funded by the EU.
