Period: July 2012 – June 2013
Client/partner: European Agency for Fundamental Rights
The European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights investigated to what extent children’s rights to be heard, to be informed, to be protected, and to non-discrimination are fulfilled in practice when they find themselves involved in judicial proceedings, affected by parental divorce or as victims of, or witnesses to, crime.

This study included extensive interviews with both professionals and children involved in judicial proceedings, where the first report presented professionals’ views and the second one report focuses on the perspectives of children.
As a research assistant in the Rights of the Child Team at the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights, I had the privilege to support the team in the research activities, specifically for the Child-friendly Justice project and the report about the perspectives of professionals.
